The Nature of the Ascendant in Horary Chart

Astrology says that there are 12 Ascendants (lagnas) which are divided in to 3 categories. These are: -

  • Movable Ascendants are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn i.e. 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th signs.
  • Dual natured Ascendants are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces i.e. the 3rd, 6th, 9th and 12th signs and the,
  • Fixed Ascendants are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius i.e. 2nd, 5th, 8th and 11th signs

Horary astrology considers the movable and fixed Ascendants as the prime calculating elements and dual natured signs are divided into two zones. The first zone between 1 to 15 degrees in the ascendant is considered of fixed Ascendant and the second zone of 15 to 30 degrees is considered movable Ascendant for astrological calculations.

Auspicious Ascendants of fixed signs are required for obtaining stable results. For example if a native seeks help from horary astrologer by asking question regarding his house then fixed Ascendant is an auspicious asset in the native’s horary kundli for acquiring favorable result.

Movable signs are consulted or determined in questions related with distance and speed. as for instance if a native questions the horary astrologer about his trip no matters it is for business purpose or not, for good results movable sign is required in the ascendant of the kundali.

A native may get instant result from a strong Ascendant as per his personality whereas in reverse circumstance the native may get negative results. But in dual natured signs as the Ascendant is in the east and north part the native may get favorable result but it will take time.

The ascendant’s role in the horary chart thus can give important clues to the astrologer about the fructification of the desire. If the ascendant of the horary chart matches the nature of the desire then there are very strong chances that the events will unfold as per the plan of the native
