The Island, the Circle and the Spot
An Island
The island is often considered an unfortunate sign but its significance is associated with the line or portion of the hand on which it is found. It is interesting to know that it frequently relates to the hereditary evils as for instance a heavily marked island on the line of head denotes a disease related to the brain or nervous system. It is primarily found on the lines but is also found on mount sometimes. Some general representations of an island on the basis of its position on various lines and mounts are provided below.
- When there is one distinct mark in the centre of the line of heart, it denotes weakness related to heart.
- When an island is on the line of life, it denotes the illness or delicacy at that particular point.
- When on the line of fate, it represents some heavy loss of worldly things.
- The presence of an island on the line of Sun indicates a loss in position and name generally through a scandal.
- When it is present on the line of health, it foreshadows a serious illness.
- A line running from mount of Venus into an island represents disrepute and trouble from passion to the person with whom the subject is in love with.
- An island crossing the hand from the mount of Venus to the line of marriage indicates disgrace and unhappiness in married life of the subject.
- An island on any of the mounts injure the qualities of the mount on which it is found.
The Circle
The circle is rarely found on a hand. It is an inauspicious mark but its presence on the mount of Sun is fortunate since it increases the powers of mount of Sun. This is the only position in which it is fortunate. On any other mount it tells against the success of subject. Its presence on any important line depicts that the subject would enter into a vicious circle of troubles related to that line and would never be able to break through and get free.
The Spot
A spot is generally the sign of temporary illness. When it is found on a line, it denotes an illness corresponding to the line. A bright red spot on the line of head indicates an injury to head from some blow or fall. A black or a blue spot denotes a disorder related to nervous system.
