The seventh house can also be associated with legal matters, negotiations, contracts, enemies and all sorts of open confrontations, no matter pleasant or adversarial. The seventh house is traditionally called the house of marriage. It is the house which will provide you with insight on relationships. The seventh house defines how you pair up, whether it be in relationships or business. The seventh house holds clues to all important one-on-one ties, and that includes enemies and arch rivals. The many hues of relating, from harmony to life-or-death power struggles are expressed in the seventh house.

The seventh house also shows if you are apt as a partner is business or if you should go ahead alone with it. An energized seventh house makes sure that you go ahead faster with a partner instead of going alone. Jupiter in the house of partnerships is auspicious for tandem ventures, and ups the chances for financial rewards. Difficult aspects to, or karmic lessons  in the seventh turns relationships into a crucible where what's gained is deeply transformative in the end. The seventh house is the house of other people in the way they relate to the native. Or, more exactly, in the way in which the native sees others. While the first house represents how the native appears to others and the fourth house how the native sees him/herself, the seventh house represents how others appear to the native. The seventh house represents the general nature of the native's outlook on the world. It represents partnerships of all kinds—marriage, business, etc. Partnerships in business and in life are seventh house matters.

The Seventh House is the section that shows what your partners and partnerships are like. However, it goes beyond that. It also deals with everyone whom you approach as an equal, including open enemies. The seventh house reflects certain characteristics and qualities we've unconsciously chosen to value -but over the course of a lifetime, we've also unconsciously chosen to believe we don't have these valued qualities and therefore, we unconsciously look for (and invariably find) these valued shadow qualities when choosing a partner or life mate.
